Healthy Youth
Healthy Youth
Norman Regional Health System partners with community Elementary Schools to perform free health screenings for students ranging in age from kindergarten to fifth grade. This year, Norman, All Saints Catholic School, Community Christian School, Robin Hill, Washington and Little Axe Elementary Schools will again participate in the free health screenings performed on site at each individual school.
The screenings include tests for possible head and neck, hearing, vision, and vital abnormalities, with fifth grade students being screened for scoliosis. All screenings are provided by trained hospital staff and community volunteers who are each committed to improving our youth's health.
Other Healthy Youth programs include:
- Gifted Middle School Career Day - local gifted students spend the day learning about health careers from professionals in the field.
- Summer Daycare/Preschool Program - Age-appropriate health topics presented at the school by trained NRH staff.
- Free Dental Sealant Clinic - partnering with Health For Friends to provide dental sealants for eligible 8 year olds.
