Norman Regional Hospital has dual certification in bariatrics, holding both the Joint Commission Disease-Specific Certification and certification as a Center of Excellence by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.

The Norman Regional Bariatric Program focuses on improving every aspect of a patient's life. The Norman Regional Bariatric Program partners with Oklahoma Weight Loss Options and Journey Clinic to provide a comprehensive individual evaluation.

We believe that the well-prepared patient is the most successful patient. All patients will undergo pulmonary function testing and individual consultation with our surgeon, psychologist, dietitian, and exercise physiologist. Some patients may need further consultation with specialists in cardiology, pulmonology, nephrology and others.

Educational seminars are provided multiple times throughout the month. These free patient seminars are the first step for any patient considering weight loss surgery. A seminar is held every Thursday at The HealthPlex on Tecumseh Road and Interstate 35 and selected Wednesdays.
