Moore Opportunities

A few of the volunteer activities and areas at Moore Medical Center include:

Clerical Support – Volunteers assist with clerical duties.

Customer Service – Volunteers visit newly admitted patients to check on their admission process and determine if they have any needs.

Information Desks – Volunteers greet patients and guests providing admission assistance and general information.

Second Floor Reception Desks – Volunteers serve coffee and offer assistance and general information to patients and guests. This area is also responsible for the delivery of flowers and gifts to patients.

Gift Shop – Be part of the Auxiliary’s largest revenue generating effort as a sales associate or cashier in the hospital’s Gift Shop.

Outpatient Surgery – Volunteers provide patient information to the family as it becomes available and assist family members as needed.

Moore Application

Upon completion of an application, potential volunteers will be required to complete the following:

Orientation – Each prospective volunteer is required to attend a three-hour orientation session. These sessions are held throughout the year at Moore Medical Center.

Tuberculin or TB Skin Test – TB Skin Test-manditory for all volunteers and provided at no cost to the volunteer.

Immunization Screening – A one time screening for measles, mumps, and rubella is done in the hospital’s laboratory at no cost to the volunteer.

Background Check – A background check will be done on all volunteers prior to receiving placement.

Annual Education – Annual education is held once a year and attendance is required by all active volunteers.

Dues – The Moore Medical Center Auxiliary asks its volunteers for a yearly membership of $5.

Uniforms – Uniforms are mandatory for all volunteers. They include a burgundy jacket, khaki slacks or skirt, and white soft-soled shoes. The cost of the uniform top is $32.
