Norman Regional Honors Women in Healthcare

March is International Women's Month, a time to celebrate and honor the contributions of women throughout history. Women have played a significant role in shaping the healthcare industry, and the Norman Regional Health System is no exception.

At Norman Regional we recognizes and values the contributions of women in healthcare and within the health system.

Women have been essential contributors to the healthcare industry throughout history. From Florence Nightingale, who pioneered modern nursing, Elizabeth Blackwell, the first female physician in the United States, to Rebecca Lee Crumpler, the first black female doctor in the U.S., women have played a vital role in advancing medicine and healthcare. Today, according to U.S. Census data, women make up the majority of healthcare professionals, including nurses, doctors, and administrators.
