At the end of World War II, residents of Norman, Oklahoma, faced a harsh reality: people were dying before they could even make it to the hospitals in Oklahoma City. In 1946, a group of Norman citizens had enough and vowed that no more families would suffer due to the distance. Physicians and concerned citizens banded together to build Norman Municipal Hospital, fulfilling that critical promise and laying the foundation for what would become Norman Regional Health System.

Since then, Norman Regional has been a beacon of hope and health, providing life-saving care for the community across Norman, Moore and south-Central Oklahoma. But times change, cities grow, and new challenges arise. It was time for a new promise: to provide the best care not only to the people of Norman but also to those beyond the city's borders. This new promise was embodied in Inspire Health, a comprehensive initiative to modernize healthcare in the region.

Inspire Health marked a significant investment back into the Norman community and south-central Oklahoma region. This initiative included expanding the hospital on Tecumseh, building a new freestanding emergency room called Norman Regional Nine, and revitalizing the historic Porter campus, which brought a much-needed hospital devoted to behavioral medicine and mental health. This transformation represented hundreds of millions of dollars invested right back into our community, our friends, our neighbors, and our family.

Nearly 4,000 healers, all dedicated to your health, will ensure the community receives personalized healthcare with compassion and excellence.

Saying a hospital has expanded isn't the whole story. Even saying a promise was kept doesn't fully capture the impact.
