In light of the severe weather outlook for this afternoon and tonight, Norman Regional’s Primary Care and Walk-In Clinics will be closing early today at 3 p.m. Off-site laboratory locations will also close at 3 p.m., while campus-based lab locations will maintain their usual hours until 6 p.m.
Today's weather forecast indicates the potential for a severe weather outbreak, with the possibility of dangerous storms across Oklahoma. Please note the following key points:
- Varied Impact: While severe weather is expected, not everyone will experience a storm. However, it's essential to remain vigilant regardless of your location.
- Supercell Threat: Any supercell that forms has the potential to be dangerous. Significant tornadoes and destructive hail could occur within these supercells.
- Tornado Risk: The risk of tornadoes is significant, and they can happen in any risk area. The threat is expected to increase between 7 p.m. and midnight.
While Norman Regional understands the need to shelter safely during a severe weather outbreak, Norman Regional facilities are not designated storm shelter areas and are not designed or equipped to serve as a storm shelter.
Please prioritize your safety and stay informed about the weather conditions in your area. We encourage everyone to heed any warnings or advisories issued by local authorities and to have a plan in place for seeking shelter if necessary.
