Norman Regional Welcomes New Cardiothoracic Surgeon

Norman Regional Health System is eager to introduce Bruce Cannon, MD, Cardiothoracic Surgeon, to our heart care team.

Board-certified in thoracic and cardiac surgery, Dr. Cannon attended medical school at the University Of Oklahoma College Of Medicine followed by a double residency at the Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center in general and cardiothoracic surgery.

His experience also includes a fellowship in Myocardial Protection Research at Massachusetts General Hospital as well as being an American College of Surgeons Fellow.

Dr. Cannon has more than 30 years of experience specializing in cardiac surgical procedures including, coronary artery bypass surgery, mitral valve replacement and TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement).

Having been raised in the Moore-Norman area and a current Norman resident, Dr. Cannon is happy to be starting this new journey in his hometown. “When the opportunity opened here at [Norman Regional], I wanted to be able to give back to the local community. A chance to work locally and be able to offer my experience to this community is very valuable,” Dr. Cannon shared.

Joining Dr. Cannon is Tracey Walker, APRN, CNS. Tracey specializes in assisting patients as they transition from their hospital stay to their follow-up visits.

Dr. Cannon and Tracey’s expertise is readily available to patients at Norman Regional’s Heart & Vascular Associates, conveniently located in the Norman Regional Heart Plaza building.

Dr. Cannon can be seen by a referral from your primary care provider.
