About Starla Givens, APRN

Starla Givens, APRN is a nurse practitioner working with Dr. Jessica Hinojosa. She received her Bachelor’s in Nursing from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Norman, Oklahoma, and her Masters of Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner from Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, Kentucky.

Starla said she became a nurse because she had a desire to help those in need, especially women. She chose to become a women’s health nurse practitioner after 22 years of serving as a labor nurse because she wanted to be able to establish long-term relationships with her patients and impact their lives from adolescence and beyond.

“Women can expect that I will actively listen to their needs and concerns and provide education and support as we work together to determine the plan of care that best meets the needs of the woman and her family.”

I absolutely love Starla and the other thing is when I got there I signed in and no one ever called me up so after about 20 minutes I went up to check to see if they had me checked in because it seemed like I was the only one not getting called up to get signed in so it was just a little awkward considering it took a while to get back and I wasn't even sure if they realized I was there that's it thank you

I just want to say that it was the best women's doctor appointment I've ever had. And with it having been so long from my last appointment, I was nervous but felt totally at ease and comfortable. And my questions were totally answered so confidently and calmly. And I basically just couldn't be more thankful.
