Details:
Norman Regional Health System, Norman Public Schools and the Norman Regional Health Foundation are partnering together to bring free CPR classes to our community. We are pleased to support the American Heart Association (AHA) and its important goal of increasing survival from cardiac arrest. The Family & Friends® CPR Course teaches life-saving skills in a group environment using the AHA’s research-proven technique.
  • Please do not enroll in this course if you are in the late stage of pregnancy.
  • If you have a medical condition, it is highly recommended that you check with your physician prior to signing up and participating in the course. Individuals with back, arm, or knee injuries may have a difficult time kneeling and performing the CPR chest compressions.
  • Recommended for ages 12 and older, but according to the AHA, studies have shown that children as young as nine years old can learn and retain CPR. 
  • Each person attending must be registered for the event.

Course Content:

  • Adult Hands-Only CPR and AED (AED will be taught but not practiced)
  • Adult CPR With Breaths (Optional) - (Rescue breathing will be taught but not practiced)
  • Mild and Severe Airway Block: How to Help a Choking Adult
  • Child CPR and AED (AED will be taught but not practiced)
  • Mild and Severe Airway Block: How to Help a Choking Child 
  • Infant CPR 
  • Mild and Severe Airway Block: How to Help a Choking Infant 

Course Features

  • Uses AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which improves learning and retention.
  • The classroom format works well for learners who prefer group interaction and feedback while learning skills.
  • Each student receives high-quality course materials for ongoing reference. The student manuals are graciously provided by the Norman Regional Health Foundation.

At the end of each class, we will have a random drawing for a FREE CPR Anytime Kit donated by the Norman Regional Health Foundation. The winner can help their family & friends learn CPR too!

There is no certification for this course and no cards will be issued. Participants will receive a certificate of completion.
