About Alfred "Dail" James, APRN,DNP,CNP

Alfred "Dail" James, DNP, APRN-CNP, is a Family Nurse Practitioner at the Norman Regional Urgent Care.

With a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the Kramer School of Nursing at Oklahoma City University, Dail has dedicated his career to providing compassionate, individualized care to patients of all ages. He is passionate about treating each patient as a unique individual, developing personalized care plans that address not only immediate health concerns but also long-term wellness needs.

Dail saw the joy and fulfillment his wife, Janice, found as a registered nurse. Together, they’ve both earned their Doctorates in Nursing Practice, continuously motivating one another to grow and excel in the nursing field.

Before transitioning into urgent care, Dail spent ten years as a bedside registered nurse in the emergency room, where he gained invaluable experience working with diverse patient populations. His time in the ER deepened his desire to expand his medical knowledge, which led him to pursue his advanced degree and later work in urgent care, where he honed his procedural skills and ability to develop tailored care plans.

"I look at each person I treat as an individual," said Dail. "I try to make sure that the care plan I develop is customized to each person's specific need. I enjoy treating people of all ages and try to teach them why the plan of care is important and how it helps address other health issues that need to be monitored."

Outside of work, Dail enjoys spending time with his family, participating in outdoor activities such as camping, hiking and fishing. He also shares a love of assembling and painting army miniatures with his two sons, as well as bonding with his daughter. Dail and his wife love to travel, exploring the culture and history of the places they visit.
