Marvin Harvey, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician at Norman Regional Primary Care - Purcell in Purcell, Oklahoma.

Dr. Harvey explained that his decision to pursue a career in family medicine stemmed from his personal experience when a family medicine physician diagnosed him and might have indicated a need for ear tubes.

“Without that early intervention, I likely would not have gone far in life,” he said. “Family doctors have the ability to make a drastic and long-lasting impact for the better.”

Dr. Harvey’s special interests include:

• Asthma
• Blood pressure management
• COPD
• Diabetes

He said that his patients can expect individualized, patient-focused treatment plans and to be treated with respect and dignity throughout all stages of care.

Dr. Harvey received his doctorate of medicine from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and completed his family medicine residency from the Texas Tech University Permian Basin Family Medicine. He also served in the United States Air Force as a captain and general medicine officer at Tinker Family Health Clinic.

Aside from medicine, Dr. Harvey enjoys soccer, kayaking, and traveling. One unique talent that he has is the ability to suture with both his right and left hands.
