Injuries from falling, especially hip fractures, cause millions of adults to be hospitalized. One out of three adults aged 65 and older will fall each year, but less than half will talk to their healthcare provider about it. Don’t wait to seek care if you injure yourself by falling.
Most of our hip fracture patients are treated in our Orthopedics and Spine Center at the Norman Regional HealthPlex, off Interstate 35 and Tecumseh Road. Our team includes physicians, nurses, therapists and more.
Norman Regional is dedicated to caring for those with hip fractures. In fact, our program received Disease Specific Certification from The Joint Commission. This means our program and its team work continuously to provide safe, high-quality care, treatment and services.
Could you be at risk for a hip fracture?
There are four things you can do to prevent falls at home.
Norman Regional has a comprehensive Fall Prevention program for patients who are at risk for falls while they are inside our hospitals. If you are hospitalized, ask your nurse about how you can help prevent falls.
