Norman Regional and Oklahoma Surgical Associates have a comprehensive program for colorectal care. Our team includes colorectal surgeon Rahal Y. Kahanda, MD, who specializes in minimally invasive procedures for colorectal cancer and other colorectal diseases.
Colorectal cancer is a cancer that starts in the colon or rectum and often begins as a growth called a polyp. Some polyps become cancer over time. Finding and removing polyps can prevent colorectal cancer.
Dr. Kahanda is trained in robotic surgery. Robotic surgery is performed with an internal camera, viewing console, and system of robotic arms controlled by the surgeon. Robotic surgery often results in less blood loss, smaller incisions and a quicker recovery for patients than traditional “open” surgery.
From the physician’s office to the surgery suite to follow up care, Norman Regional and Oklahoma Surgical Associates partner to provide excellent treatment at every stage.
